- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old. Various Trauma injuries (only level 1 trauma center for the system, take in a lot of transfers and/or ED admits), Sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, cardiac arrest. CVPs, IABP and Impella-core staff will take if no exp; Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time. Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuse
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment: Yes
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit Ratios Duties: Yes- 1:18
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot: Nasal cannula to vents
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitors: No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling): 0630-1830, 1830-0630 // self-scheduling, managed by manager based on unit needs
- Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Floating Requirements: All over to the inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 2 shifts
- Additional Notes: Fast paced unit with critically ill patients. Attributes that help a nurse be successful on this unit include critical thinking skills, personable, positive attitude, team player.

RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
