- OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift
- Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation

Beds: 56: private and semi-private.
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 from 07-2300 & 1:5-6 from 23-0730.
- Required certifications: BLS.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Acute Care Gen-Med: cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope,
anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute resp failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health & addictions.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Central Lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes. Prefer candidates who have EPIC experience and travel
experience on a MedSurg Floor- IF they have experience in a level I trauma center will consider without travel experience as long
as they have EPIC experience.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: No
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Lasix
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment: Free charge RN on each floor.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit Ratios Duties: PCTs assist with vital signs, accucheks, bladder scans and
ADLS. Ratio 1:8-10.
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow, etc.): Bipap / Cpap for sleep apnea, administer inhalers, suctioning.
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitors: House wide telemetry is monitored remotely, RN can view strip on pack or computer. Phillips monitors.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 3-12s 7-7:30, API electronic schedule, self scheduling / block scheduling allowed.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Sat/Sun for days & Fri/Sat for nights.
- Holiday Requirement: Varies
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No
- Floating Requirements: Rotation any other acute care gen med area (nephrology, neuro, ortho, oncology).
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: Any color professional scrubs. No visible tattoos, no visible piercings except ears.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: 2-3 shifts
