26 beds. The Intermediate Care unit (IMCU) is a critical care step-down unit dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence- based care to our patients. We receive patients from many areas, including but not limited to: the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. Our patient population consists of adult, acute care patients who require more specialized care than is available on a general medical-surgical unit. All of our patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. We care for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, patients with arterial lines, central lines and patients requiring titrated medicated IV infusions. Patient care services vary widely, depending on each individuals specific needs. Our team adapts quickly, is vigilant and provides compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary approach.
